
Red program characteristics

To supply, from the University, elements that would be used to influence the improvement of the quality of basic and medium education.
- To base our contribution in the strengthening of the scientific capacity of school by refreshing and consolidating the disciplinary knowledge in some areas of the curriculum and also by boosting collaborative research between school and university, both in teaching dynamics as well as in school life
- To guide our action toward schools considering them analysis and intervention units and not toward individuals, after recognizing that school changes could not be imposed from our perspectives, but arise from the knowledge of the institutions and the mutual agreements concerning the significance of schools in their context, the interests of its actors, and the possibilities for innovation.
- To build academic communities consisting of teams of principals and teachers oriented to the generation of educational and pedagogic knowledge.
- To enable schools so that they may turn into agents of their own change aimed at giving a new meaning to their social significance. (Rodriguez 2002: 6).
