Land Restitution. Contributions to peacebuilding in Colombia
General description
On the basis of the implementation of the land restitution process, Colombia is facing big challenges, not least that it be sustainable in the long term, but also that it might enable people to build their life projects, avoiding fresh situations of violence because of facts on the ground, that characteristics of particular contexts be generally recognised, strengthening local and institutional capacities that offer restitution to victims of the armed conflict and that, at once, contribute to peacebuilding in a context where negotiations and agreements on this topic are developing.
To close this event we will look exactly at the relationship between the Colombian land restitution process and peacebuilding. That is, the challenges, possibilities, contributions and/or limitations which the launch of the land restitution policy offers in order to create the conditions for positive peace in contexts where they are implemented.
